I also have a few demos of songs that you can download or listen to at www.indieheaven.com.  You do not need a login, just type in my name into the search engine.  While you're there, check out my blog and my news - I often have a song up on the fanfaves list you can vote for and my news column will help you find what category it's in.

These demo songs have been written for family and friends over the years, and are a preview of a business I am hoping to launch in the fall of 2009!

"I Delight in You"

I Delight In You" is my solo debut.  In 2008 it was nominated for four Covenant Awards, including:

Composed of mostly original songs I have used as a worship leader in BC, Canada.  At the time of this recording,  the Creator was reminding me of the stories of native grandparents in my family that have always made me feel that First Nations people were my people  Realizing that I had never really honored the First Peoples of Canada and the USA in a public way, this album came out of a desire to recognize the people to whom Canada and the USA owe so much.  Borrowing from the many musical influences I have had in my life including aboriginal sounds, I pray it will be a bridge of connecting the different people groups that I have so come to love and identify with.  In the words of Richard Twiss, may we all come and worship around God's throne as "one church, many tribes".

The title track "I Delight in You” came from a dream I had in which Father God came to my house and my church and begin singing over our people.  Its Scripture base is Zephaniah 3:17.  An interesting note:  where the word rejoice is used, the Hebrews understanding was to celebrate by spinning around violently.

"Spirit Way" was written after I had moved to Williams Lake, B.C. – a community with over 13 different FN bands.  Still very unfamiliar with the culture, nevertheless this song came in a vision of people doing what I now know is a friendship dance.    It was a groundbreaking time for me, and set me on the path that I am presently walking.

"Heal The Land" started as a simple worship song to honor the Lord using both Hebrew and Aboriginal Names.   "Fire of the Mountain" I later learned was used as a term for the Cherokee way of life in the Appalachian Mountains where I am from (originally I was thinking of the fire on Mt.Sinai where Moses and Yahweh met).   The song took off into an intercessory direction when I began to read Romans 8 into the recording.

"No High Like The Most High" is a humorous song written by a very talented songwriter in Mackenzie, BC.  While traveling north to some native villages, I heard this song being sung and just knew I had to get my hands on it.  It was the easiest and most fun song to record on the entire album - and the one my Tennessee relatives like the best!

"Worship From The Valley" is a worship CD I had the honor of recording with two other couples, Evan and Leanne Smailes and Malcolm and Donna Petch.  It is a multimedia project that includes original songs, dance, art, worship articles and interviews. with the worship leaders, artists and producer, Andrew Smith.  Part of what makes this album special to me is the   children's choir (with my own two kids included) on two of my songs, "It's All About You" and "Your Heart Was Broken" -    This album also carries two of my all time original favorites, a rocking live version of "For Freedom" and a real throne room song "Worthy of Our Highest Praise".
